One dead, 2 wounded after robbers attacked gold dealership in Mankranso
One person is reported dead after a gang of armed robbers allegedly attacked a gold dealership shop at Mankranso in the Ahafo-ano South West District of the Ashanti Region.
Confirming the saddened incident to Akoma News, in an interview, an eyewitness Nana Amakye say at least three of the robbers besieged the shop at about 7:30 pm on Friday, August 23, to rob the gold buying shop.
According to the accounts, people present at the shop attempted to resist the operations of the robbers, leading to a sporadic shooting by the robbers.
Three people are reported to have been hit by the bullets.One of them, identified only as Kwame, is said to have died on the spot after he was shot in his head.
The other two people who suffered injuries to their chest , arm and other parts of the body were rushed to the Mankranso hospital and subsequently referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.
“The robbers bolted with gold, sums of money and other valuables, including those of customers and shop attendants.
Mankranso, is known to be one of the artisanal small-scale mining hubs in the Ashanti Region.
