Many were those who believed Highlife artiste, Kofi Kinaata should have been nominated in the Artiste of the Year category of the recently held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA), and probably even go ahead to win that title.
But the Confession singer says he is very happy and grateful for picking up three awards last Saturday night..
He scored a hat-trick on the night and went home with Song Writer of the Year, Highlife Artiste of the Year and Highlife Song of the Year awards.
“ I won three awards and I can only be grateful to God and Ghanaians who loved me and voted massively for me” he told Dan Kwasi Prince of Dailyviewgh.com .
Asked if he thinks he should have grabbed more than three awards, the Sweetie Pie hitmaker said there is nothing he can say or do about that since the awards event is over. “ The fact that I walked away with what I won last Saturday night is a strong indication that Ghanaians got my back. I also want to use this opportumity to thank my management team for the love and support shown me throughout my music career.”
According to Kofi Kinaata it is not every artiste whose song is received well by Ghanaians but “ thankfully, my songs are always appreciated and I want to say a big thank you to anyone who believed in me”, he added.
Touhing on his plans for the rest of the year, Kofi Kinaata who is in the studio working on a new song said Ghanaians should just watch out for him because he is full of surprises.
“ The journey has not been easy but God has been so good and I know the future is bright” he added.
