Everyone Ghanaian lover of music, has at one point or another been proud of Efya. Whether she is on a hit track with an international artiste or getting a nod at the world music awards, Efya has always been a source of national pride.
The songstress, who was in Ghana to thrill event audience during the Easter holidays, soon after returned to the USA, to continue working.
On Wednesday 26th April 2017, Efya again made history for Ghana, as she performed at the Sound of Brazil (SOB) in New York, which is considered a rite of passage for artistes looking to make it big in the US and also the last place Fela Kuti, performed in the USA, before he died.
The Ghanaian songstress, will be the first musician of Ghanaian origin, to perform at the 500 capacity venue, previously conquered by the likes of Outkast, Drake, Kid Cudi, DMX, Kendrick Lamar and more.
The artiste announced this achievement with humility, as she took to Instagram to write, “Last night was a dream. Thank you NYC”.
Speaking to Efya, she sounded optimistic about the year ahead. Stating that her “gingams” are in for continuous thrills, as she intends to keep giving Africa a world class representation.
