We await investigation outcome of Obuasi incident to address issue.
The Former NDC Parliamentary candidate for Obuasi West Faustina-Love Kenin says they looks forward to the investigation reports of the Police and National Investigation Bureau to understand and address the root cause of the recent shootings, at Obuasi, one of its host communities.
Madam Faustina-Love Kanin comment follows the recent shooting and rioting incident, that unfortunately, claimed the life of nine community members and injured others.
“ It is important that we understand the underlying root causes and immediate triggers of the unfortunate incident and ensure that it never happens again.”
The company reports that a group of people suspected to be residents of neighbouring communities in Obuasi illegally entered the mining site.
She said, unjustified acts of aggression, shooting, and violence, however, undermines this partnership and could potentially threaten the socio-economic development that host communities can derive from mining,”
She spoke to the media at the NDC MMDCE’s vetting in kumasi.
She however said, they will work with the company to have a lasting solution to the menace when appointed as the Municipal Chief Executive MCE in Obuasi West.
The residents must have a permanent job in the area to avoid future occurrence.
