Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah says the club will be forced to sell star player Frank Etouga Mbella if supporters don’t contribute to the Fabu Census registration.
Nana Yaw Amponsah is tasking the Asante Kotoko fans to fill the 40,000 seating capacity at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in order to generate enough revenue to keep the Cameroonian striker.
“If we have one million supporters of Kotoko donating $1 each and we have one million Manchester United supporters donating $1 each how much is each club going to have, $1m. It is all about data collection.
“There are many Ghanaians who contribute to clubs outside Ghana because the avenue has been created for them to do so effectively. For me, the key thing is to have the right data and the main foundation that we are going to build is the Kotoko census project.
“If our supporters don’t come to the stadium, how can we maintain Mbella? We’ll be forced to sell players so that we can balance our books,” Nana Yaw Amponsah disclosed this to Kotoko Supporters in Tarkwa after 2-0 win over Medeama.
The attendance of Kotoko supporters during their home matches this season has been deteriorating despite the Porcupine Warriors impressive form in the ongoing 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.
